Introducing, my new internet radio show, The Power Hour! The Power Hour is an hour of some of the best songs that ever hit our ears from today and yesterday. Time has not been set in stone of when it’s going to be but I do post on Facebook before hand. You can find the Video feed on UStream. My very first public mix! It’s a little rough but enjoy.

This new years I played at a house party my friend was having. Space was very tight due to the bar right behind me. Equipment was very minimal; I just had the laptop and the mixer.

Music was somewhat simple. I had picked all the greatest songs of 2010 and for the most part stuck with that. At 11:20PM I began the count down of the Top 10 songs of 2010. Now, there were so many great songs that were released this year it was hard to find the best songs. I tailored the list more to my friends tastes then what was actually a big hit this year.

Equipment wise, everything ran great. Ran the laptop with VirtualDJ. Its two decks were connected to the Front and Rear speaker outputs on the laptop then into 2 channels of the mixer. In the software I had disabled the EQ, the crossfader and left the auto gain enabled so I didn’t have to worry about getting each level correct to the other deck. One issue I did have was my microphone. It sounded horrible! I was using my friends karaoke mic until the wiring just fell apart on that but that was still better then the one I had.

All-in-all the night went very well! I will defiantly be doing this again.
